Implant-Supported Hybrid Dentures

Patients who have used traditional removable dentures for many years often experience not only hard tissue loss but also significant soft tissue loss. In such cases, even if enough implants are placed to create fully fixed dentures, achieving an aesthetically pleasing appearance without providing soft tissue support in the prosthesis is challenging. Hybrid dentures are designed to address these issues, combining fixed teeth with a gingival mask that provides both dental and soft tissue support. This type of prosthesis is ideal for patients with reduced chin-to-nose distances and diminished lip support. Unlike cement-retained full-arch fixed implant prostheses, hybrid dentures involve different abutments and laboratory processes, requiring the expertise of an experienced dentist to achieve satisfying results.

Maintenance

Implant-supported hybrid dentures must be cleaned thoroughly by the patient. The use of a water flosser is strongly recommended and should not be neglected. Additionally, brushing with a standard toothbrush and toothpaste for at least 2 minutes every morning and evening is essential. Regular dental check-ups every 6 months are crucial to ensure the health and longevity of the prosthesis and oral tissues.
